A message from our founder

Welcome to Kappa Lambda Psi Sorority (ΚΛΨ). When I envisioned Kappa Lambda Psi, I wanted to create more than an organization—I wanted to create a legacy. A place where women could gather through the power of literature, embrace the beauty of sisterhood, develop as leaders, and make a meaningful impact in the communities around them. ΚΛΨ was founded from a love of storytelling and a belief that books have the ability to educate, inspire, heal, and connect us. Stories preserve our history, amplify our voices, and remind us of the strength we carry from generation to generation. While Kappa Lambda Psi welcomes women from all backgrounds who share our values and commitment to our mission, we proudly recognize and celebrate our foundation as an organization that represents African American women. Our purpose is rooted in creating a space where African American women can see themselves reflected, celebrate our culture, honor our experiences, and continue the important work of uplifting our communities. Through literacy initiatives, community service, sisterhood, and leadership development, ΚΛΨ is committed to pouring back into the communities that have shaped us. We believe that access to books, education, mentorship, and encouragement can open doors and transform lives. Our sisters are united by more than membership—we are connected by purpose. We are storytellers, leaders, educators, advocates, and women committed to leaving a legacy of excellence. To every woman who enters our doors, we welcome you. To every community we serve, we stand with you. And to every sister who joins this journey, we invite you to help us write the next chapter of Kappa Lambda Psi. With purpose, pride, and gratitude, Lakeisha Bradley Founder & President Kappa Lambda Psi Sorority, Inc. Fundimus Fabulas, Sorbimus Amicitias We pour stories, we sip friendships

The Kappa Lambda Psi Sorority Creed

We believe that every story holds the power to inspire, every voice deserves to be heard, and every woman has the ability to leave a lasting legacy. We believe in the transformative power of literature to educate minds, strengthen communities, and preserve the stories that shape generations. We honor the legacy, resilience, brilliance, and contributions of African American women, whose voices continue to influence history, culture, and the future. While rooted in that heritage, we welcome every woman who embraces our mission, our values, and our commitment to purposeful sisterhood. We pledge to lead with integrity, serve with compassion, and uplift one another with grace, humility, and respect. We are committed to building communities where literacy flourishes, opportunities expand, and every child and family has the encouragement to dream beyond their circumstances. We choose collaboration over competition, excellence over complacency, and purpose over popularity. As sisters of Kappa Lambda Psi, we understand that our greatest legacy is not measured by what we receive, but by what we give, the lives we impact, and the stories we help write. Together, we will preserve the past, embrace the present, and inspire the future. Together, we pour stories. Together, we sip friendships. Together, we write a legacy that will endure for generations. Fundimus Fabulas, Sorbimus Amicitias. “We pour stories, we sip friendships.”
